John Deere announced in June an expansion of its factory in Horizontina, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The company expects to invest R$145.7 million (nearly US$29.6 million). The factory’s production capacity will be increased to 500 harvesters and 950 platforms annually. It was Deere’s first factory in Brazil, starting operations in 1979.
