With my impending retirement at the end of October, editors at Ag Equipment Intelligence have begun to transition responsibilities to ensure that the newsletter, special reports, On the Record broadcasts and annual Executive Briefings conference will continue to meet readers’ expectations well into the future.

Kim Schmidt has been named executive editor of Ag Equipment Intelligence, a title she also holds with Farm Equipment magazine. She will take on the day-to-day duties of developing editorial content for the various AEI properties and to ensure  they continue to meet the high standards of quality that our readers have come to expect.

In addition to her work with Farm Equipment and as coordinator of the annual Dealership Minds Summit, Kim has been the face and voice of our twice a month On the Record news broadcast. She has been with Farm Equipment for 8-plus years and has been a great colleague and collaborator on the various publications and projects we’ve worked on over these years. I am confident Kim will continue to build on what we’ve done so far. She will be assisted by Ben Thorpe, associate research editor.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my 15-plus years with Ag Equipment Intelligence and Farm Equipment. Thank you for supporting our efforts to provide the best in-depth research and reporting on the farm machinery business and to live up to our mission to be the leading source of information and data for farm equipment dealers, manufacturers and others with a stake in this vital industry.

Equipment makers have continually used their ingenuity to develop and perfect the tools needed to feed and clothe the Earth’s ever-growing population. Dealers  will continue to introduce and deliver these new innovations to the farmer and teach him how to fully utilize the new technologies.

Ag Equipment Intelligence will be right there with them to deliver the data and information they need to succeed. — Dave Kanicki
