Row-crop tractors drove large ag unit growth in May according to analysis from RW Baird of the latest AEM equipment sales data. Compact tractor demand softness continues despite higher dealer inventories.
Combined U.S./Canada large ag unit sales were up 5.4% (April –4.4%). Robust row-crop tractor growth (+15%) was more than enough to offset declines for 4WD tractors (–23.8%) and combines (–16.4%).
