Shur-Co announces the acquisition of Donovan Enterprises, effective November 30, 2012. This acquisition brings together two well-known leaders in the truck, trailer and specialty tarp market, resulting in an entity with a combined 93 years of tarping experience.

Donovan Enterprises, headquartered in Stuart, Fla., was founded in 1977 and specializes in front to rear arm driven and pull style tarp systems for the construction and solid waste hauling industries. Donovan is also a leading exporter of these products and operates a facility in Rochester, England (UK). Shur-Co is the inventor of the Original Shur-Lok side-to-side roll tarp and is headquartered in Yankton, S.D. It was founded in 1954 and now manufactures a wide offering of tarp systems and accessories for trucks, trailers, carts and specialty equipment used in the agriculture, construction and flatbed markets. 

The combined company will operate under the name of Shur-Co and will retain both companies’ brands and existing product lines, while also maintaining existing functions at current locations. Corporate headquarters will remain in Yankton, S.D. Shur-Co CEO Terry Tennant states, “We couldn't be more excited about the future.
