The relatively buoyant tractor market in South Africa of the past 2 years has gone into reverse as weather-related and political issues weigh on farmer confidence and investment sentiment.
In 2017, manufacturers, distributors and dealers enjoyed a 10% boost in the market as sales grew to 6,460 units from the 5,850 units sold in 2016, and a welcome if more modest 3.9% increase last year to just over 6,700 units.
