John Deere dealer Padula Brothers of Lancaster and Raynham will soon be opening a third store on Shelburne Road on the former Country Hyundai property.

Caroline Mansfield, spokeswoman for Padula, said her husband, Bryan, started working for the family-owned company in 1984 and purchased it with her in 2004.

“We’re not only moving to Greenfield, but celebrating our 10th anniversary,” she said.

Mansfield said they hope to open the store at 191 Shelburne Road by Thanksgiving.

She said Padula will be mostly a John Deere dealer, but will also carry other lines of farm equipment.

“If you need something for the farm, we’ll sell it,” said Mansfield.

She said besides tractors and their attachments, the Greenfield store will carry lawn and garden tools, Steele Power Tools and Honda generators, as well as lawn mowers, snowblowers and more.

“We will be a full-service dealership with sales, parts and service departments and will begin by employing a estimate of between 10 and 12 people full time,” said Mansfield.

She said the 8,900-square-foot building and its parking lot have plenty of room to display equipment and tools and accommodate the service and sales departments, so there won’t be any expansions at this time, but the company is doing a renovation on the building, which includes code updates and other improvements.

“We saw a huge need for this in the Greenfield area,” said Mansfield. “Sirum Equipment Co. on Route 63 in Montague is no longer a John Deere dealer, so people are looking for one in that area.”

The Mansfields live in Athol, so will be involved in all three stores, but Mansfield said they will be hiring a general manager for the Greenfield location.
