DUTZOW, Mo. — Schweissguth Brothers, a John Deere and Kubota dealership with locations in Dutzow and Union, Mo., has sold the John Deere portion of its dealership to Sydenstricker Implement, according to a story in The Missourian. The acquisition of the John Deere business will be effective Feb. 1. Sydenstricker Implement currently operates 10 John Deere dealerships in Missouri.

According to the story: The Schweissguth brothers will still operate the Kubota dealership in Union, according to Bob Schweissguth, who owns the business with his brothers, Burt, Mike and Dave.Bob Schweissguth said all personnel will stay the same, including that he, Burt and Mike will continue working at Sydenstricker Implement and Dave Schweissguth will remain in Union.

The only difference, he said, is that Kubota tractors under warranty will have to be serviced in Union, and John Deere tractors under warranty will have to be serviced in Dutzow. Both sites will be able to work on both brands if they are not under warranty, Bob Schweissguth said.

“This will allow us to continue the quality of service our customers deserve and at the same time will ensure job security for our dedicated employees,” he said.

Schweissguth began selling John Deere equipment in 1934 and tractors in 1937. The John Deere lawn and garden division was launched in 1963 and Kubota was added in 1995. The Union store was opened in 1987 and focuses on small tractors, lawn and garden equipment and hand-held products.

Sydenstricker Implement has been in the implement business for more than 70 years. The Dutzow facility will be a full John Deere parts, attachment, service and sales location, selling lawnmowers and turf products, compact tractors, large agriculture equipment, and commercial work site products.
