A Caterpillar ag equipment dealer is coming to Dix, Ill. Altorfer Ag Products announced the purchase of property for the new full-service dealership at Route 37 and the Dix Texico Road. The company plans to build two large buildings for the dealership. The goal is to begin construction in July and be in operation by October. 

Vice President Pat Puntoni says the site was selected because of its access to utilities and easy access to the farming community. He anticipates 5-7 employees. The company, based in Clinton in Central Illinois, has dealerships in both Central Illinois and Iowa. Altorfer has taken over the agriculture sales and service business from Fabick Tractor Co. in Salem and Marion, Ill.
