Melrose Industries, the UK-based business turnaround specialist, has confirmed that its managers are in discussions with potential buyers of GKN Wheels & Structures. Since the end of last year, the business has been up for sale and classified as a discontinued operation for accounting purposes.
Melrose had previously identified this unit and GKN’s off-highway powertrain operation for disposal, having acquired the GKN plc engineering group in 2018 primarily for its automotive and aerospace divisions.
