North American large ag equipment sales continued to be weak during August, with 4WD tractor sales decreasing 38.9% and combine sales dropping 17.1%. Both declines were somewhat better than July’s (4WD: –43.3%, combines: –23.2%), according to Mircea (Mig) Dobre, senior research analyst with Baird. Row-crop tractor sales declined 25.6% year-over-year and mid-range tractor sales decreased 0.4% following July’s –22.6% while inventories increased 20% year-over-year.
